Intimate events, weddings, and corporate celebrations
no other venue in Auckland offers the character and history of Settlers Country Manor.
Wedding and Event DJ at Settlers Country Manor
Settlers Country Manor in Waimauku is one of Auckland’s most established and best-loved wedding venues — and one I’ve worked at more times than I can count over the past two decades.
I’ve seen it evolve from a beautiful historic estate into one of the most well-equipped wedding venues in the region. Every change has been an improvement. And every time I work there, I appreciate it a little more.
If you’re planning your wedding at Settlers Country Manor and looking for a DJ — here’s what’s useful to know.
The venue’s in-house setup is genuinely good
Settlers has invested seriously in their in-house audio and visual infrastructure. The sound system is professional-grade and well-maintained. The dancefloor is a proper dancefloor. The ambient lighting over the reception space is already there and looks great.
I still bring my own professional sound system. Not because the venue’s isn’t adequate — it is — but because I work best with gear I know, trust, and have tested. It’s also a backup that means nothing goes wrong on the day.
One feature that genuinely sets Settlers apart from almost every other Auckland wedding venue: a 20-square-metre LED screen installed in the Banquet Hall. During your reception it can display your names, patterns, photo slideshows, or themed visuals — a striking backdrop behind the head table that photographs beautifully and guests genuinely notice. It’s a rarity, very unique, and I can’t think of many Auckland venues with anything like it.
What familiarity actually means
Knowing a venue isn’t just knowing where the power points are.
It means knowing how sound travels in the Banquet Hall, and where to position speakers for a room of 200 versus a room of 50. It means knowing the flow between the ceremony spaces, the covered patio, and the reception hall — and how the timing of that transition affects the energy of the night.
It means knowing the team. Abigail and the coordinators at Settlers are professional, organised, and genuinely invested in the day. When I work alongside a team like that, everything is easier — and the couple feels it.
It means I’m not learning the venue on your wedding day. I already know it.
The Banquet Hall
The Grand Banquet Hall is the heart of most receptions at Settlers. It can seat up to 370 guests for a formal dinner, or accommodate 400 for a cocktail-style event, and the space can be divided into three sections for smaller gatherings.
For audio, that flexibility matters. A room set for 80 people needs a completely different approach from a room at full capacity. Having done both many times at this venue, I know how to calibrate for the space and the crowd.
Wedding ceremony support
Settlers has multiple ceremony locations — indoor and outdoor — and I’ve worked all of them. Whether your ceremony is in the gardens, under the archways, or inside the Manor, I can provide clean, reliable audio for your celebrant and your music.
No awkward silences. No sudden stops. Just a ceremony that sounds exactly the way it should.
